Opening Malaysia–Qatar Dialogue on Precious-Metal Recovery
PERKESA met Saoud Mubarak Al Nasser at the Qatar Embassy to explore cooperation in recycling and a proposed platinum-group metals recovery project.
Dato G Kumaar Aamaan, President of PERKESA and CEO of Kenanga Waja Sdn Bhd, met Saoud Mubarak Al Nasser at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Kuala Lumpur. The constructive exchange explored opportunities for Malaysia–Qatar cooperation in recycling and precious-metal recovery.
Following the discussion, Dato Kumaar will prepare a detailed presentation for a proposed platinum-group metals (PGM) recovery project, covering platinum, palladium and rhodium. The presentation will outline the business model, technology, investment opportunities, sustainability, environmental compliance and potential regional expansion.
The engagement builds on PERKESA’s growing network in specialist metals recovery, connecting industry capability with international dialogue. Potential cooperation between Malaysian and Qatari partners remains exploratory and subject to further assessment, regulatory requirements and agreement.
PERKESA extends its appreciation to Mr Saoud and the Embassy for their warm reception and valuable guidance, and looks forward to continuing a practical, long-term dialogue on responsible resource recovery.
